Ingredients
- 7.00 lbs Munich Malt
- 5.00 lbs 2-row Pale Malt
- 0.25 lbs Black (Patent) Malt
- 1.00 oz Spalt Hops Pellet
- 0.50 oz Spalt Hops Pellet
- 0.50 oz Spalt Hops Pellet
- 1.00 tsp Irish Moss
- 1.00 pkg German Ale Yeast
Boil Schedule
- 60 Minutes Remain - Add first 1.00 oz of spalt hops
- 15 Minutes Remain - Add Irish Moss
- 7 Minutes Remain - Add 0.50 oz of spalt hops
Mash Schedule
- 150 (degrees F) 65 Minutes
- 170 (degrees F) Sparge
Process
- Heat up 3-4 gallons of water to 162F.
- Mash grains for 65 minutes keeping temp ~150F
- Heat 3-4 gallons of water to 170F to sparge with.
- Sparge grains.
- Bring wort to a boil
- Add Hops and Irish Moss according to boil schedule.
- Chill to ~70F
- Pitch yeast
- Allow Primary Fermentation for 2-3 days.
- Rack to secondary and store at colder temperatures.
- Add 0.50 oz dry hops to secondary fermentor.
- Let sit for ~2 weeks.
- Add carbonating sugar and bottle.
- Drink.
- Enjoy.
