Ingredients

  • 7.00 lbs Munich Malt
  • 5.00 lbs 2-row Pale Malt
  • 0.25 lbs Black (Patent) Malt
  • 1.00 oz Spalt Hops Pellet
  • 0.50 oz Spalt Hops Pellet
  • 0.50 oz Spalt Hops Pellet
  • 1.00 tsp Irish Moss
  • 1.00 pkg German Ale Yeast

Boil Schedule

  • 60 Minutes Remain - Add first 1.00 oz of spalt hops
  • 15 Minutes Remain - Add Irish Moss
  • 7 Minutes Remain - Add 0.50 oz of spalt hops

Mash Schedule

  • 150 (degrees F) 65 Minutes
  • 170 (degrees F) Sparge

Process

  1. Heat up 3-4 gallons of water to 162F.
  2. Mash grains for 65 minutes keeping temp ~150F
  3. Heat 3-4 gallons of water to 170F to sparge with.
  4. Sparge grains.
  5. Bring wort to a boil
  6. Add Hops and Irish Moss according to boil schedule.
  7. Chill to ~70F
  8. Pitch yeast
  9. Allow Primary Fermentation for 2-3 days.
  10. Rack to secondary and store at colder temperatures.
  11. Add 0.50 oz dry hops to secondary fermentor.
  12. Let sit for ~2 weeks.
  13. Add carbonating sugar and bottle.
  14. Drink.
  15. Enjoy.
