Witbier (Extract)

Ingredients

  1. 12lbs Wheat Extract
  2. 2oz Bitter Orange Peel
  3. 2oz Coriander Seeds
  4. 2oz Saaz Hops
  5. 2 Packets Wyeast #3944 Belgian Witbier Yeast

Boil Schedule

  • 60 Minutes - Add Hops
  • 10 Minutes - Add Coriander Seeds
  • 1 Minute - Add Bitter Orange Peel

Process

  1. Filled a pot with 3 1/2 gallons of water.
  2. When the water reached about 100 degrees we added the Wheat Extract.
  3. Once wort started to boil we added Saaz Hops.
  4. 50 minutes after Hops were added we added Coriander Seeds.
  5. 60 minutes after adding hops I removed from heat and added Bitter Orange Peel.
  6. Cooled with wort chiller.
  7. Measured roughly 1 3/4 gallons of wort into two carboys.
  8. Filled each carboy up with 3 1/4 gallons of water.
  9. Pitched yeast
